Car rental from Athens airport
We would like to rent a car from Athens airport upon arrival from Crete to drive to Delphi and would like to return it in Athens. Any suggestions for a rental company? I remember reading about a Greek rental company located at Athens airport with very reasonable rates and reliable service. I didn't bookmark it at the time and now can't find it through search. Anyone can help?

I rented through http://www.economycarrentals.com
The car was provided by Avis in downtown Athens and returned at the airport.
The service on picking up was fast and efficient. Upon returning the car with an empty tank due to a strike and no gas available, the lady at the airport desk was very accommodating and charged me much less for the fuel than she could have.
With service like that I'd happily do business with them again.

best thing to do is to compare rates between more companies....
Avis and National have usually lower rates, while Hertz is more expensive...
But do compare, as they might some kind of special offer.
Companies with a desk at the airport are :
Avis, Hertz, Budget, Sixt, National & Alamo

There is no Economy desk at the Athens Airport, only the ones that i mentioned above.
Having a look at Economy's website here is what i found :
<<On arrival at Athens Airport, client's must proceed to the terminal exit, where you will be met by a representative. A courtesy bus will then take clients to the rental office which is located 6 km from the airport.
This service at Athens Airport operates between 07:00 HRS and 22:00 HRS. When collecting and returning a vehicle outside of normal hours there is an additional charge of EUR 25 payable locally.>>

Not sure which "Economy" you mean. The company I referenced above does not have cars at all.. they are brokers. In my case the car was from Avis which I picked up in town but returned to the airport and finalized things at the Avis desk there.

Thanks for the info, clausar and ParisAms; would prefer a rental company which has a desk at the airport. Got a good quote from Budget (quotes from Avis, Hertz and National are over the top). Does Budget offer reliable service in Greece ?

http://www.economycarrentals.com deals with international companies and if you want a car at the airport you'll get a car at the airport.
Try looking at http://www.budget.gr A long time frequent visitor to Greece says he always gets the best deals there. Note it's .gr and not .com

ParisAm - your link doesn't work for me at all, but Traverjan's link above works well:

Thanks everyone. I got the best deal from Budget and booked it. They do not even require a credit card for the booking, they have a desk at the airport, and they allow two extra hours for free between pick-up and drop timings.
