Hi SF - Yellow pages interactive map says it's 830m from the station:

Walking directions:

Hope this helps ...

It's not difficult or terribly far but the sidewalks are quite narrow and there's a bit of traffic. If you have a lot of luggage, just take your time. Once you get there, it's easy as pie to find your way out of the city and to the Autostrada.

Thanks so much! We'll walk it then. After we rent the car we are leaving for Chianti- not even coming back to return it. Return is in Chiusi.

hi, again,

I only asked in case you were going to be staying in Florence - when a car is definitely not required.

good luck with your trip.

regards, ann

We usually use Kemwel when renting a car in Europe.

It's a bit of a hike but if you aren't hauling a lot of baggage it will be fine. I've done the exact same thing. If you do have quite a bit of luggage or if it's raining, just take a taxi to the car rental.

We did this too and it was very easy. Left the car rental and were on the train to Venice 25 minutes later.

Finding Avis wasn't so easy, though. Just make sure to have a good map & you'll be fine.
