Car rental drop-off in Chiusi or Orvieto
We want to drop off a rental car in either Chiusi or Orvieto. I've checked Autoeurope and want to do a price comparison, but other rental agencies don't tend to list either of these towns as a drop of spot. Any suggestions as to other competitive rental agencies that would?

We've dropped off our rental car at both Chiusi and Orvieto. We rented once from Avis and returned the car in Orvieto, caught the train at the very nearby station to Rome. Another time, we rented from Autoeurope (who used Avis) picking up and returning in Chiusi. According to the Avis website, Chiusi and Orvieto are not current choices. This year, we're renting from Autoeurope (using Hertz) in Chiusi. Hope this helps...happy travels.

Hi Greenance,
My first driving trip we booked through Hertz, picking up in Siena and drpooing in Orvieto. Both easy, although Siena required a short cab ride up from the train station to the Hertz office outside the walls.
Second trip was in Sept. I used Autoeurope and picked up in Chiusi. It was an Avis car and the rental location required a cab ride across town to the rental office, which was located inside an auto dealer. A little unusual, but fine. Dropped at Foligno where the Avis office is right at the train station.
My VW Golf diesel stick cost $335 US for 8 days from autoeurope.
buon viaggio!

Unless I missed it in a previous response in this thread, be aware that Avis no longer has an office or drop-off point in Orvieto. We were able to drop ours off there, but the closest Avis drop-off was in Terni, and the Terni office had to send someone to Orvieto to get the car. We were informed (by AutoEurope) that Avis wouldn't have done that for us but we'd made our reservation before Avis decision to close Orvieto office.
This was last September. Perhaps Avis has changed yet again. In any case, the Hertz office in Orvieto is essentially across the street from the train station.
