Capri or Positano
We're thinking about Capri for a week-end at the Hotel La Minerva? Is anyone familiar with that hotel? We also have 2 kids(6&10).
Would Capri or Positano be best?

Since it's only a weekend, I'd probably pick Capri. There's much less stairclimbing back and forth than in Positano, and a wider range of hotels to choose from, most of which have pools. I don't know the Minerva ( we stayed at HOtel Luna last year with our kids, which I highly recommend-- huge pool area, extensive grounds, beautiful rooms and close to town) but you can check previous posts for recommendations. And, lastly, despite what everyone may say, try to get in a visit to the Blue Grotto, preferably by PRIVATE boat tour. Your kids will be thrilled with it.
Good luck!

The costliest way to do this is through your hotel, which is what we fell for last year. I think we paid about $250 for a five-hour tour.
There is, however, a tourist kiosk in town, just a few steps away from the funicular station, and I bet they could provide you with reputable names.
Or, you could be adventurous, and try to find a deal with one of the many captains in Marina Grande ( area where the boats come in from Sorrento, Naples). We were approached by quite a few people who wanted to give us a private tour, but it was too late for us!
By the way, one of our favorite restaurants of all the whole trip, was a small pizzeria called "LO ZODIACO", in Marina Grande. Unbelievable food brought to the table in gleaming copper pans, and some of the best pizza ever!
Have a great time!

mars10,
Just wanted to add that if you check in previous posts for the name, "FLUFFY", you will find some detailed descriptions of her stays at the Hotel Minerva. She seems to really like it, and has been there a few times.
Good luck!~
