Why is it necessary to resort to humor of something that should have gone the way of public hanging.
Kudos to the protesters:

Lin and Robert, ¡Viva, San Fermin!, ¡Gora, Don Fermin!, the king of all fiestas. So good when it starts, so sad when it ends (and so good to get out of there after some three days).
Start: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwV-WCtrjDw (including a couple of animated Spanish)
End: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5jt1...eature=related
Lin, thanks for the link, and Robert, I wish you a great Sanfermines. Ready to rumble, keep the red and run safe!

If you've never experienced the fiesta or the encierro, why do you insist on commenting about something you know nothing about? Second hand information means nothing. Come here and see what actually goes on, and then I might respect what you have to say.
The bulls in Pamplona are not taunted by anyone, not at a cost of €8000. The cows (vacas) in the bullring, after the encierro, are a match for anyone trying to taunt them.
If ignorance is bliss, then we have a couple of very happy people in our midst.

Excuse me I am not ignorant! Many villages in Spain have a variation of the running w/bulls but thanks to Hemingway Pamplona's festival has evolved into an excuse for drunks! The bulls have become secondary to the drunks sleeping all over the streets.Last year the cost to clean up the town after the "fiest" was incredible.
Go to the festival Tomatina-harmless fun!

rubbish. I have watched the action via links like lincasanova gives and I see what you, in your ingorant bliss perhaps, fail to see - frenzied bulls made to run a gauntlet of thousands of yelling and jeering folks - rolled up newspapers used to swat the bulls in the rear and then the encierro itself where the bulls are simply slaughtered in what only can be called a blood bath - and you can see the bulls are not really blissful.
Yup you can separate the long tradition and history to sanction this mayhem and ignore the fact of animal suffering, first being terrorized in the streets then slowly slaughtered in the ring - but to do so does not make it any more or a moral thing in my eyes - animals should not be abused or tortured simply for the fun of humans.
Go watch the live stream animal abose and see!
