Canoe and Balloon near Sarlat or Figeac
Well, I've seen scattered things about renting a canoe for half a day, but am curious if anyone recommends a particular vendor. I've only seen fleeting mention of balloon rides - is this something to do in this area? (Not as enticing for me, but quite enticing for my husband).
Thanks as always,
Alice

There are dozens & dozens of canoe rentals in the Cenac, Roque Gageac, Beynac, Allas les Mines run. The place we rented from was more than a half-day event, however (or maybe we were slow rowers).
I've seen many balloons up above our gite near Cenac, but I don't know where they take off from. No doubt you'll see lots of "flyers" about the balloons from the TI or hotel "rack" of tourist info.

Our favorite canoe vendor is at Saint Vincent-de-Cosse, on the road from St-Cyprien to Beynac. There's a huge chateau on the left (if you're coming from St-Cyprien) as you approach the tiny little road to the right to Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse (easy to miss the sign - it's small).
Google Montgolfiers du Périgord for balloon info.
