Canoe and Balloon near Sarlat or Figeac
Well, I've seen scattered things about renting a canoe for half a day, but am curious if anyone recommends a particular vendor. I've only seen fleeting mention of balloon rides - is this something to do in this area? (Not as enticing for me, but quite enticing for my husband).
Thanks as always, Alice |
There are dozens & dozens of canoe rentals in the Cenac, Roque Gageac, Beynac, Allas les Mines run. The place we rented from was more than a half-day event, however (or maybe we were slow rowers).
I've seen many balloons up above our gite near Cenac, but I don't know where they take off from. No doubt you'll see lots of "flyers" about the balloons from the TI or hotel "rack" of tourist info. Stu Dudley |
PS - I would do both the Canoe & balloon trip from the Sarlat area - not from Figeac.

Our favorite canoe vendor is at Saint Vincent-de-Cosse, on the road from St-Cyprien to Beynac. There's a huge chateau on the left (if you're coming from St-Cyprien) as you approach the tiny little road to the right to Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse (easy to miss the sign - it's small).
Google Montgolfiers du Périgord for balloon info. |
You are both always so helpful. I will check these out.
