Canali ai Coronari Rome

The photos of the hotel look too good to be true for the price @ 203E for a standard double (no elevators with 4 floors!) It's quite new on the scene and near Piazza Navonna. Should we give it a try for our one night in Rome?

I would love to see you try 'em and report back here. The price actually sound about right for no elevator (they will lose some business with no elevator and have to make it up with price). They misrepresent distances to other places in Rome on their website.

Someone else here has already metioned plans to stay there (this summer? fall?) and I was thinking that they mentioned a rate quite a bit lower than you have mentioned here.

Best wishes,

Rex

You sound like you are familiar with the tourist destinations in Rome. If we arrive at 2PM and depart for the airport at 6:30am the next day, we won't have time to see much. We need a hotel stragetically placed to maximize our short time. Do you know if this hotel is in a quaint area where we can walk narrow cobble stoned streets and have a great dinner the last night of our trip? Thanks for your help.

Hi RichardJ, I have stayed here and it is really a nice place in a great area.
There is a tiny elevator, but they say it doesn't work, so there are the stairs. I am staying there again in March because I liked it so much.
Of course, stay there for one night, it is right off of Piazza Navona.

There's your more up-to-date answer than I can give. A lot of hotels would meet your criteria. Cesari and del Senato might cost more.

Rex--We reserved a standard room at the Canali ai Coronari for 186 E and a second superior room @ 207 E. I will post my comments when we return if the lack of the elevator is problem. Thanks for your help.

Natalia--I didn't mean to slight you. I really appreciated your comments. In fact, your positive information gave me the confidence to make the reservations at the Canali ai Coronari. Rex mentioned that he thought the rates were lower than 200E so I wanted to let him know what the currents rates are. Thanks for responding to my question.
