Can you see any of Versaille just by driving through the town?

It's not about whether you love history. You can love history and still not think it's worth going to Versailles because you have only a few days in Paris. And Paris, of course, is hardly devoid of history. I've probably been to Versailles a dozen times or more, but never on a trip as short as the OP's. But if a trip to Paris is unthinkable without a trip to Versailles, by all means go.
