Can you help me remember which French chateau we visited?

Can you please help me remember which French chateau we visited? At Dijon, we inquired at the visitor center about staying the night at a nearby chateau. One was recommended and we hailed a cab. We drove on and on (thought we were being kidnapped) and were delivered to a quaint chateau.

The property had an unfilled moat around it. It had a modest swimming pool, unfilled in early March, 2001. The main chateau was run by a charming blonde woman with a small boy on a tricycle and a dark haired man who limped. The man was a pilot I believe, and I think the property was affiliated with an airstrip.

They served us kir and made us a wonderful meal. Our room was in separate building and had antique furniture with a canopied four poster bed and nice bath.

Our French was so lousy and their English was so limited, I am not sure we ever knew where we were. We had a really wonderful experience, and I just wish I could remember where we had it!

Try this site: http://www.chateauxcountry.com/index_en.html Use the geographical search and click on Burgundy.

The Chateau de la Chassagne looks like a possibility.

Thanks so much for jogging my memory. The property was Hotel Chateau de la Berchere in Nuits-Saint-Georges.

We had just spent a week in Paris and I was so exhausted from living on adrenaline that I slept for 13 hours that night in that four poster bed.
