Can these be taken in suitcase?

With the added airport security, can I take blunt/rounded tiny sissors (no sharp points)? How about tweezers? I will not be checking luggage, just taking the 22 inch roll on. I will be flying Czech Airlines and Delta if this matters. Thanks, Marcie

I saw in the Chicago Tribune today that tweezers and small nail files are now allowed. I think scissors of any kind are still verboeten.

I would not chance it with the scissors.
Tweezers .. maybe. British Airways told me they did not allow tweezers or nail clippers, but I had in my checked luggage just in case, along with my little travel scissors. You never know what day you are going to be selected for a real going-over rather then the random search, why complicate things for other travelers.

I flew out last Friday and they stopped a guy because he had a nail file in his suitcase. I don't know if he was allowed to keep it, but he had to go through his luggage.

I'd just buy a new pair on arrival and skip the possible delay/hassle

Try to call your airline to ask their policy for items in carry on bags. It does vary from carrier to carrier. If they see something they don't like, they will make you unload everything to check all items in your bags. Better to check with airline.

KLM and Northwest Airlines are now allowing tweezers and safety razors. No metal nail files though on carry on luggage

No nail files or scissors or pointy things. Tweezers maybe. Safety razors. They will go through a large carry-on minutely, going and coming. We have lost "something" every flight since last fall because husband keeps forgetting where some things are. Also being pulled aside for a check means shoes too--a requirement of the security system. It just takes a long time.
I will mention that if you are originating from another point and then connecting for overseas, you are going to go through this a lot.

Scissors definitely have to be in checked luggage. Returning from Paris, our suitcases were hand checked (took about 10 mins. max) but the guard made sure the case was being checked when she saw the scissors. I put my nailclipper and the knives I bought in there also. No problem, as long as it was not going to be in the cabin with me.
