Can someone give me exact directions to GIOLITTI's? -thanks!
Hello,
I have been to this place once, and the gelato was soo good. I would like to take my mom there on our trip, however I remember I had an extremely difficult time finding it. I just looked at a map, and cannot find "via Uffici del Vicario, 40" at all.
Can someone give me directions starting at the Pantheon, I know it is close by.
Your help is much appreciated!

To find Giolitti's gelato shop, try this. Go to the web-site for the Hotel Nazionale a Montecitorio on Piazza Montecitorio. www.nazionaleroma.it Check map and directions on the hotel's website. We stayed here and, if you are standing outside facing the front doors of the hotel, if you walk around the right-hand corner of the hotel, and keep going, you will be at Giolitti's shortly. From Giolitti's it's a short walk to the Pantheon, but harder to describe.

One more suggestion. If you look at your map, see if there is an index of piazzas. Find Piazza Montecitorio. It will be small. That's where the Hotel Nazionale a Montecitorio is located, and it's very close to Giolitti's. Hope this helps. I believe the street you are looking for runs alongside of the hotel. (We stayed at this hotel as I mentioned above and went to giolitti's every day!)

Follow Via Del Pantheon (right side of Pantheon, facing it from its front), which after 100 m becomes via della Maddalena. About 200m further you will get to Via Degli Uficci del Vicario. Turn right, you'll find Giolitti on your left. Enjoy it!!

Hi love,
Go to www.viamichelin.com
Enter Pantheon and Via Uffici del Vicario 40
You will get a map. It's about 1.5 km.

To be totally contrarian, skip Giolitti and head for Della Palma, IMHO the best gelato in Rome. If you're starting out at the Pantheon, you'll pass DP on your way to Giolitti, so you'll save yourself some steps to boot. I love their licorice flavor, and I don't even like licorice. Then there's marron de glace (candied chestnut) and oh wow, the kumquat (chinese mandorine) is the very best!

Just to add to Grinisa's posting; once you are headed in the general direction you will start seeing signs for it telling you where it is. We just followed the signs and it was very easy to find.
We enjoyed Giolitti but personally didn't find it to be any better/worse than most other gelato we had in Rome. I've yet to come across a gelato I didn't like!
