You silly sillies, poor Lostinbostin! Have you tried calling the airlines yet I see this seems to be the most sensible sugestion made so far.
Then perhaps call a person associated with an orchestra (you do after all live in Boston?) even a college to speak to the music dept. They may know about travleing with instruments.And your son is attending college in Spain? Perhaps the office in the music dept in his school can help?
