Can I make the flight, Chicago-London

I'm looking at a flight from Chicago-London Heathrow, with a connection of only 1 hr. 30 minutes. Is this cutting it too close? Both flights are on American Airlines. Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you saying you are landing in Chicago 1.5 hours prior to your flight leaving for London? Where are you flying/connecting from?

If that's your connection time, it's no problem. American flights all generally leave from the same concourse so you shouldn't even have to walk that far and your luggage should be checked through to London.

Our flight from Austin, TX gets to Chicago 1 hr. and 30 min. before the flight to London leaves, both on American. Thanks!

What time of year? Weather in Chicago (or other places since there can be a domino effect) can be a real problem in the winter. IF the Austin flight is on time you should be able to make it fine. But weather or equipment problems could through a spanner (wrench) in the works.

90 minutes is plenty of time, even if your flight is 30-40 minutes late. You will not have to go through security again in Chicago on the way to London(though you will on the way back).

American does use more than one concourse, but I would be comfortable with 90 minutes going to London. I would want more time returning through Chicago.

I fly through Chicago with American several times a year and have only missed one connection - that time I had less than 60 minutes scheduled.

I've had an hour and everything was okay. My philosophy is that as long as I catch my connecting flight on my way to my vacation, that's what matters. I don't mind being delayed on the way back.
