Can I get to the gate at CDG if not flying?

When in Paris on vacation in 2 weeks, my husband and I will be surprise meeting a friend at Charles de Gaulle flying in from London (long story). Would we be able to meet her at the gate or would we have to be on the other side of security like in the US? thanks.

No, you can't meet them at the gate because the arriving passengers will have to go through passport control.

NO! Even we passengers are having a hard time getting to the gate; there is security control up to that point. You meet your friend at the arrivals hall right after she clears immigration/customs.

But you can wait by the door where they will come out after having gone through passport control. I did that on meeting a friend recently, and it was a nice surprise for her.

Nope, can't get to the gate. But you can meet them as they exit the secure area into the terminal. And I HATE Duke. My freshan year at U of Penn, first football game, all reved up, Duke beat us 52-0.For more Paris information go to www.anamericaninparis.com [email protected]

And be sure you know which terminal, and which arrival door (the "Arrival" monitors will tell you which). There's usually a crush of limo drivers, tour operators and various relatives just outside Immigration/Customs so it can be a chore finding your party. There's one arrival area that exits TWO ways, so guaranteed if you stand to the left, your friend will exit right. If that's the scene, you'll have to stand at one end and your husband at the other.

I hope you are both tall.
