Buying art in London

On trips to Italy and Germany we bought paintings from artists on the street. Not great art, but nice souvenirs. We will be going to London for the first time in two months. Any suggestions about where to buy street art? Also, any suggestions about where to buy porcelain or china? Thanks.

Sorry, I has intended to add that the artists set up on the north side of Bayswater by Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
If you wish to go there via Tube then the Queensway, Lancaster Gate, and Marble Arch stations are near the art exhibits.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did a search and found the website. For anyone interested here it is:

http://www.bayswater-road-artists.com/

Looks to be a very nice offering and certainly a great way to promote British art.

The China Reject shops have lots of choices in porcelain. There is one up the street from Harrods.

Thanks for the URL for Bayswater's artists. Some very interesting art.
Can someone remark on how they safely transport the art purchase back to the States? I'll be in London next month and would love to bring some paintings home, but wonder about bring them back on the plane. Or do you ship them back?
Thanks - R

my wife and I bring back graphic art-pastels, etc but not oils. go prepared with several stiff pieces of cardboard or foamcore board (even Walmart carries foamcore now) and several sheets of artist tissue to protect the art surface. that can just go carefully into your suitcase when you pack to go home and is light to carry when you are shopping.

Rick
When I went to Italy and Germany I bought oils. I simply rolled the oils and put them in my rather large handbag. They traveled very well and are now on a wall in my office.
