Personal family experience at www.jeannerafal.com Excellent selection, helpful staff (some English spoken if that is a concern), not cheap, but fine quality. Store on Blvd. Haussmann steps from metro stop.

There is no one "flagship" store which carries everything. The AVC stores in St Germain and rue des Ecoles are really very close to each other. If you're in a real hurry, just Google their phone numbers and ask if they have what you're looking for in their store. The salespeople all speak English, if you ask them nicely - "Bonjour. Parlez-vous anglais, s'il vous plait? Merci."

I just want to add that we have been in Iceland the past two years on the "first day of summer," - dear effing god, it was cold! I absolutely love the place, but if you're going to be touring around in a jeep make sure everything is covered and cosy - ears, head, toes, torso, ankles, neck, feet... I am originally from New England and pretty inured to the cold, but Iceland winds and rains and sleets made me almost tearful at times, and I HATE being a weakling. It's not a climate for the soft-hearted. I wore a shearling coat (at the end of April), and had a Goretex waterproof jacket, good boots, hat scarf, ear-warmers, for when it was wet, with a heavy sweater and silk underwear inderneath it.
Don'tmean to scare you, but damn that place was cold!
