bus to zakopane from krakow

Me and my family will be staying in Krakow
for 4 nights on May 6. I am interested in seeing Zakopane but would rather make it a side trip from Krakow. Would it be too hard to do in 1 day? Also can someone tell me about bus schedule from/to Zacopane that time of year? Also, would it be too cold in early May ? Any info would be appreciated.

The bus is faster than the train and it takes about 2 hours so easily doable in a day. The bus leaves from the train station near old town in Krakow and there are a number of departure times from both Krakow and Zakopane.

BTW Bus Service in Poland is called in short "PKS"
From Krakow to Zakopane:
http://www.pks.krakow.pl/rozklad//518do1494.php
Left is what time it leaves, then origination and final destination (since many will originate from other cities will stop in krakow and then zakopane and then continue) distance (110km) and what time it arrives.

From Zakopane to Krakow...
http://www.pks.zakopane.pl/rozklad.htm
5:00,6:30,7:00,8:15,9:00,9:30,
10:00,11:20,12:00,12:30,13:10,
13:40,14:30,15:20,15:45,16:30,
17:00,17:30,18:15,19:10,21:00,
21:30
This list Zakopane to all destinations so from left to right - depart - to where - arrives at destination...

Have fun.

Polski Express! Leave Krakow 12:30 PM Arrive Zakopane 14:35 PM Leave Zakopane 15:00 Arrive Krakow 17:05. Check at <http:www.lot.com> Busses are usually new and well kept up. Many other bus services. It is never too cold in Poland. Zakopane is a ski resort! May should be really nice....

We made the trip during Easter time 2 years ago. It WAS cold - snowing in Zakopane when we arrived. We however, stayed overnight.

We also took the bus - very convenient from hotel in Krakow (Europski). WE went to the Toursit Bureau for a room if you change your mind.
