Hi Myer,
Although I haven't taken the Seville-Granada bus, I'll top your thread in hopes you get first hand responses. The route takes you through Antequera on the superhighway A 92, so you don't have winding back roads or heavily mountainous terrain.
I think I remember that you wanted a late afternoon departure from Seville.
The bus co., Alsina Graells, has 2 afternoon NON-STOP runs, the first departing at 2:30 arriving Granada at 5:15 and the other departing at 5 p.m. that arrives in Granada at 8 p.m. The fare is 16 euros.
I remember too that one of you suffers from car sickness, so you want to avoid the constant stop and go, so the departures you should AVOID are the ones at 3 and 4 p.m., which are the "milk runs" and take 4 1/2 and 31/2 hrs. respectively, stopping at every town along the route.
You can see all the departues and their routes at
www.continental-auto.es
Click on "horario y venta de billetes", then select Andalucía, then click on "ver orígenes", then select Sevilla in the "seleccione origen" box, then "aceptar", then Granada in the "seleccione destino" box, then "aceptar", then click on the "ver paradas" arrow to see the routing.
The non-stop bus service in Spain is really quite comfortable, with 3 seats across, usually a hostess on board to serve beverages, and busses are non-smoking. BUT I've not experienced the Alsina Graells Seville-Granada non-stop service, so I can't tell you how it compares with other Continental Auto busses I've taken.
Now, I hope someone will give you his/her recent first hand experience.
(And thanks very much for forwarding my files to zootsi-I've been away from the board for awhile and have fallen far behind!)

Maribel,My family of 3 are travelling from Seville to Granada in March. My son gets easily sea sick. Would you recommend the train than the bus? Do we have to buy the bus or train tickets in advance or can we buy them the day of departure. Thanks.

igpjazz,
From Seville to Granada there are more frequent daily bus departures than train, but as I mentioned above, not all are non-stop.
There are 4 daily TRD (tourist class only) trains from Seville to Granada. There's currently an early 7 a.m. train, which takes 3 hrs. 22 min., then a mid-morning departure at 11:40 arriving Granada at 3:02.
Check the schedule at
www.renfe.es/ingles/index.html
You could wait until the day of departure to buy bus or train tickets but since there are 3 of you, I'd buy train tickets a few days ahead of time, since there are only 4 departures per day.
I purchase train tix in advance because I don't want to risk finding the only available seats in the smoking cars.
Renfe tickets can be purchased at travel agencies throughout Spain as well as in the train stations.
Others should tell you about their experiences with purchasing the bus tickets
the day of departure. For March, it should be o.k., but again, not all busses offer non-stop service.
