I am going to be taking the bus from Rome to Siena. What is the easiest way to get to the Tiburtina Bus Station from the airport (FCO)?

Is Sena.it a good website to use to book tickets?

Well, taking a taxi or a car is the easiest way but likely pretty pricey (I'm guessing around $100 US but could be off by a good amount). By transit the best route is to take the train from FCO to the Termini and then transfer to the B metro line (Termini station). Tiburtina is the 3-4 stop from termini.

And, yes, Sena.it is where we booked our tix when we made the same trip 4 or so years ago. The bus is definitely the way to go.

You can take the local FR1 train from FCO (not the Leonardo Express) to Tibutina. It departs every 15 minutes (8€)and takes about 45 minutes.

Sena is the bus company, so yes, buy your ticket from them.

It's simpler/cheaper/faster to take the FR1 and not have to transfer at Termini. It's a very long trek in Termini from where the Leonardo train would drop you to the metro and you would have to navigate some steps with your luggage.

Thank you so much for all the help and directions. It sounds like the FR1 train to the Tibutina stop is the best option!

We have just returned from Italy and took the Sena bus from Rome to Siena. We prebooked tickets on the Sena site. Print them off and present them to the driver when you get there. I can't remember what bus number bay it was - I think it was 10. No problems with the bus, I highly recommend Sena. I would defintely not take the train to Siena. The station is a fair walk to the old city. The bus stop is at Piazza Gramsci in the old city. I don't know if you've booked accommodation yet but staying within the city walls is a must to fully appreciate this charming city. We stayed at a 2 star hotel, Albergo Cannon D'Oro. Comfortable, clean room looking out over the street. Very memorable!

I stand corrected apparently. When we went we had time in Rome before we had to connect in Tiburtina and thus went through Termini station...good to know there is a quicker route.
