Bus from Geneva to Aosta in May?
Two of us will be traveling from Geneva, Switzerland to Aosta, Italy in mid-May. We can depart Geneva from the airport or from the bus station. And, in Aosta, we can be dropped off either at the airport or the bus station.
I researched bus companies that make this trip and am having difficulty finding a bus that makes this trip outside the ski season.
We want to take the bus as it's cheaper. (One-way rental car is prohibitive. Private chauffeur is also expensive.). If possible, we'd rather not take the train from Geneva that goes around Lake Geneva to Milan-Torino-Aosta. It's a very long route to go (albeit scenic) that takes us too far out of our way.
Here's what I've found so far for busses, Geneva to Aosta:
FlixBus does not have service there in May.
Aosta Express goes between Geneva and Courmayeur but I don't see any option from Courmayeur to Aosta (in winter, yes).
Savda bus goes from Courmayeur to Aosta airport.
Is the bus really not an option for us in May? If so, any other ideas that I haven't considered?
Thank you,
HubTraveler

During the winter season (until April 14th) there exist 5 daily connections Geneva - Chamonix - Courmayeur - Aosta.
In spring, they will be reduced to 3 connections. The spring timetable is not yet published, but it will most probably not differ much from that of last year.
From mid April until end June 2019, Aosta bound buses left Chamonix Sud at 11.45, 15.30 and 17.15, with arrival at Aosta at 13.35, 17.35 and 19.35

Same problem for the Geneva - Chamonix bus. Actual winter timetables: MontBlanc_H19-20.pdf
Buses between Courmayeur and Aosta run every hr, all the year round: 836_it.pdf
So do the trains from Geneva to Chamonix:
