Bus from Delphi to Monastery of Osios Loukas?

Hi,

Is it possible to take a bus from Delphi to Monastery of Osios Loukas? How long does it take? Any info on this would be appreciated!

aqua14, it's an easy distance, seems like less than 90 minutes, from the monastery to Delphi. (I'm remembering from a few yrs. ago.) We didn't take a bus, but hired a fellow on staff at our hotel in Athens, and he took us to Osias Loukas, drove us through a pretty town (Arachova, I think), and to Delphi, then back to Athens the same day. We should have taken more time.

I take it you're staying around Delphi--the ruins and the monastery are worth a couple of days between them, easily.

Yes, we are staying in Delphi for a few days and would like to take a side trip to Osios Loukas. I just can't find public transportation information on the web...

From Delphi, you can take the Livadia/Athens bus as far as the Distomo crossing (€2.20, 35 minutes, hourly), then walk 2km to the town of Distomo. Without your own transport, you can also reach the monastery by taking a taxi from Distomo (€24 return), Livadia (€25 return) or Delphi (€35 return); in all cases, the taxi will wait one hour at the monastery.

Or you could try in Delphi what we did in Athens--we just asked at the front desk, and wound up hiring one of the doormen to drive us on his day off. He was a good driver, but I guess that was luck of the draw.
