Burgundy-Paris Train Assistance Please!

Hello Helpful Fodorites!
I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to get back to Paris from Corbigny on June 4th 2005. I am trying to get back in the morning but I can't seem to find a way to get there before early afternoon. I need some assistance figuring out an earlier route. I am finishing up a canal boat trip and don't want to waste a half a day returning back to Paris. Any help would be greatly appreciated. There is a 6:00am train from Clamecy that puts me in at 9ish, but I can't get a train to Clamecy from Corbigny early enough. Anyone know of any alternative routes?
Many Thanks!

I would think that whoever operates your canal boat trip could find the informtion for you. Sometimes it takes someone on the spot to call SNCF for assistance with a request like yours.

I apologize for writing off the top of my head but: I doubt youlll find any mode of public transportation that will take you from Corbigny to Clamecy with a same-day Clamecy arrival by 6 a.m. If it's vital to save that half day (how much time will you have in Paris?) how about leaving the barge tour a bit early, in a town with good train connections?

There are taxis in Corbigny. Maybe taking one to Clamecy would be a possibility. The towns are fairly close.

I recognize this town's name as where we were maybe to start our barge trip. Get to Dijon or other large city and take the TGV.

Hi chef,

According to http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
there is a 6:09 bus from Corbigny to Clamecy from which you take the train, arriving in Paris at 10:38.

Nice try, Ira, but that bus does not run on Saturday. Also the train leaves at 6:09. Pretty handy link, however.

Here are three Corbiny taxi companies, with phone numbers, most likely one-person companies. Call a day ahead of time, or better yet have your barge crew call (if there is a crew) and see if one of them will agree to take you. Good luck!

Taxi J-C Pomel, 6 Residence St Léonard, Corbigny 03 86 20 03 07
Taxi de Souza SARL, 62 Avenue St Jean, Corbigny 03 86 20 08 76
Taxi Gérard Mehu, 7 Rue des Capucins, Corbigny 03 86 20 10 72

Note that the SNCF connections from Corbigny to Clamecy are by bus. On many minor lines, the SNCF runs substitute buses, especially at off-peak times. The bus stops outside the railway station, and you use normal train tickets. Corbigny to Clamecy by road is 30 km, and a taxi seems the only option in this case.

Thank you everyone for your help- I am going to see if Locaboat can secure us a taxi as we get closer to our departure.
