Burgundy: Looking for a beginners wine tour

My husband and I are traveling to Beaune in Burgundy in May and we're interested in any suggestions for good wine tours that will give us a basis in the Burgundies of the region. We are into wine and know a bit about California and Italian wine (and have traveled in Sonoma and Tuscany) but we don't have any familiarity with French wines. Does anyone have suggestions for one-two hour wine tours in the Beaune area? We have a car so we'll be able to travel.

If you are going to be sampling any wines, leave the car at the hotel. Check with the Office de Tourisme about available tours or contact one of these guides:

Dijon Office de Tourisme lists half-day and full-day wine excursions by Authentica Tours, starting and ending in Dijon: http://www.visitdijon.com/en/dijon_authentica_tours.htm

When visiting Beaune don't miss the marches aux vins and the wine tasting there in their caves...definitely a highlight!

Hi fellow wine lovers!
I suggest going to the Dijon tourist office that can give all sorts of interesting info on wine tours around Dijon.
You can also see all of this on their website: http://www.ot-beaune.fr/

I personnally has a wonderful experience with Wine & Voyages. They took us all around the Côte de Nuits, and the wines we tasted were so good! I am sure the other companies are great as well, but I had to choose, and I defenitely made a good choice: http://wineandvoyages.com

We have visited the region twice. The first tim we took a tour with a guide who is no longer running his tours, but he was excellent . For our second visit we toured with Burgundy on a Plate http://www.burgundyonaplate.com - and this was also extremely enjoyable. Also as the explanations were easy to follow, I think it would be a good tour for a beginner. The wines were very good - Burgundy is so beautiful it is hard not to have a good time! She runs from Beaune so would be suitable.
