BULLFIGHT in Madrid - when does season end?
Hi all! I'm not sure whether I agree with bullfighting so I will may settle for visiting the bullfight museum instead of watching an actual fight.
But I'd like to ask anyway -- when does the bullfighting season end? I will be in Madrid on Tues Oct 14, Sat Oct 25 and Sun Oct 26. Will there be shows on these days? I read from other post that the season ended on Oct 14 in 2001. I checked out some websites from other posts but I can't find the dates cuz my Spanish isn't very good.
THANKS in advance!!

I have to tell you, it really is gross. in Sao Paulo/Argentina they show bullfights on regular TV nightly, and it's fascinating but also disgusting. by the time it's over the poor thing is usually bleeding out of his mouth and too weak to stand. ugh!

ok, ok. i'm not going to see the "fight," i will just visit the museum! i know this is a heated topic but i just wanted to know when the season ends because someone told me the museum is free on "fight" days... i hope this post doesn't turn into a big ethics debate.

jellybelly,
To answer your original question about the season-it ends mid October, probably on or before the 20th The Autumn Fair ends on the 12th, then there are always a couple of amateur corridas after that. The full October calender isn't up yet on the www.las-ventas.com site.
The museum, open only during the season, is found behind the bullring, to the right and above the stables, and the entrance is always free of charge, Open Tues-Fri from 9:30-2:30 and Sun. 10-1
You can reach the bullring, called Plaza de Toros la Monumental by taking the metro. It's Las Ventas stop.
If you want to visit the museum during your Madrid stay, I'd go on Tues. Oct. 14, as it's doubtful it will still be open on the 25th.
