Hi, I'm planning a weekend in Venice in late May, and I'm looking for a hotel that is L80,000 (or less) per person with bath. Am I too late? I've tried Hotel Bernardi-Semenzato and it is booked. I've also tried a few others recommended by the Let's Go travel guide, but they too are booked through August. Any suggestions?

I've hooked on to an old thread so I hoep poeple will still open this. The questions is too silly to start a new post on (hehe).
albergo guerrato gave me a great rate for 82 euros no private bath for my mom and I. he says a BIG breakfast is included. I know most of whre I have stayed has a pretty skinpy breakfast s is theis one for real any personal experiences?? Tyring to decide between this place and albergo corona for 63 euros so just wondered if I should pay the extra just for the breakfast there?

Do you really need a breakfast that costs 10E per person? That's a lot of croissants and coffee.

His description of the Corona as a &quot;homey, confusing, old world&quot; place with lots of stairs; I don't mind homey, but I'd rather not stay in a place that he calls &quot;confusing&quot; ??? (what exactly does that mean !) Perhaps someone who's stayed there can provide better clarity on this albergo.

i was wondering that too actually i saw that posting that rick steves did. I have read poeples comments on corona and they are quite good. can anyone comment on steves &quot;confusing&quot; comment on albergo corona??

I have heard excellent things about guerrato so I am not worried about that at all. I just wondered about htis &quot;big&quot; breakfast comment and if its worth the money.

They have a description of the Guerrato, listing it as an &quot;editor's offline pick&quot;; don't have any info on the Corona.

I stayed at Guerrato 9/01 and I would not hesitate to return. I had a double room with/out bath, but the shared bathroom was always empty, so it was like having it to myself. The staff there are just great!! The location is very good and close to everything, right by Rialto market on a very quiet little street. For the money, it's great. As far as the breakfast, it was much better and much more variety than any other place we stayed. As I recall we had croissants, variety of breads, rolls, jams, cheese, cereals, fresh juice and yogurt. The breakfast room was very warm and homey. Rick Steves was arriving there the day we left. One of front desk guys was in a Rick Steves episode taking Rick for a ride down the Grand Canal in his boat.
