BUDAPEST FERIHEGY AIRPORT ON STRIKE?

BUDAPEST AIRPORT is currently having a strike................
HOPEFULLY it will be resolved "very soon."
Does anyone have any updated feedback on this situation?
Anyone flying in/out of BUDAPEST soon should check status of the strike!

I am trying not to panic yet.

For all with airline flights scheduled to BUDAPEST THIS MONTH:
As of this morning, the BUDAPEST AIRPORT(FERIHEGY) unions of airport workers STILL ON STRIKE.

It seems so far, many flights are landing but NONE are departing.

SUGGESION TO ALL with airline tickets arriving to BUDAPEST-Ferihegy........check strike status prior to your trips!
My stress level is growing, as my BUDAPEST flights are in December (fortunatley not this week!)

TrendGirl2, your posts would be much easier to read if you used more traditional capitalisation and punctuation conventions.

Strike at Budapest Airport: How to face a crisis with incompetence.

As in many other strikes workers are unfairly damaging innocent passengers. But I also suffered the incompetence of the managers of the airport to face that crisis on December 12th.

No one organised the inmense crowd stucked in the airport lobby before going through security screening. No one gave accurate information. The Hungarian police just stood and stared at the desperate passengers uncapable to move in a huge human mass. The only source of reliable(?) information about my flight was calling home and asking to check airline's webpage.

Finally, after six hour at the terminal I could take off but I lost a connection flight and now I can not claim my money from anybody.

Hungary does not deserve the way some people is "promoting" it.

Amio,
Thanks for sharinfg your experience at Budapest Airport.

What a stressful nightmare to go thru. Not a nice way to end a trip!

Hopefully this strike will be resolved soon.

I am checking daily on the BUDAPEST AIRPORT Website in hopes of the strike being totally resolved prior to my trip.

Hopefully prior to your bad experience at the AIRPORT you at least had a nice visit while in Budapest.

Yes indeed TrendGirl!

Really my visit to Budapest eases the pain of my troubled returning home.

What shocks me more is that in a so tiny airport with so many polices there it should be easy to handle a minimum organised queuing, by flight, time to departure, etc...

I wish you that stike will be over when you need to go to Budapest airport. In other case if the strikes continues, and there is no improveement on the airport organisation, the key may be cheking in as soon as you can and without any pause proceed to the Securrity screening area (as sooner the flight i guess as easy it may be to cross as the crowd would be smaller.)But anyway you would need some luck and some intelligence by the airport managers (which i do not trust).
