Brussels: Hotel St. Michel

I'm having a hard time finding information about the hotel L'Auberge St. Michel on the internet. (It's at Grand Place 16, Brussels.) From the little I can find, it looks great: a small hotel (16 rooms) right on the Grand Place, you can get a suite with a view of the square. I can only find it on a hotel booking site though, not its own website, but the photos look nice. However, there's suspiciously little additional information out there.

Myriam, BTilke and/or others, do you know this hotel and have any advice? Thanks in advance for your help! I'm also going to run out today and see what I can find at the bookstore and buy a book on Brussels. (It's a last-minute addition to our itinerary!)

Hi JB,
I will try to get down to the Grand'Place this week-end and check it out for you. I think I've seen it, but nothing specific rings a bell.
FYI, the Time Out guide to Brussels is arguably the best. I use it myself from time to time.
BTilke
P.S. Our days in Brussels are drawing to a close, we are leaving soon...but the good news is we're spending the next three months in Paris and the following three months in Provence. No complaints about that!
Thanks so much for the quick response, BTilke! And also thanks for the offer of checking this place out.

Yes, Paris and Provence...I would not complain! Have a great time.

Lastly, thanks for the referral about the Time Out Guide. I will look into it this afternoon. I look forward to hearing what you think!

To the top...anybody else have any information on the Hotel St. Michel? I found a little bit more at the bookstore the other day, including an amazing photo from one of the room's windows onto the square (in the Eyewitness book on Brussels, I believe), but would still very much appreciate any first-hand knowledge of this hotel. Thanks!

Hi JB,
I haven't forgotten you. We are in the middle of packing and things have been hectic...as soon as we get a break, probably Friday afternoon, I will head down to the Grand'Place to check it out...
BTilke (Brussels)
