anything close within walking distance from Campanile Hotel Roissy?

Hello,

I'll be staying most of the afternoon and evening and all night at Campanile Hotel Roissy near Charles de Gaulle Aprport. Is there anything interesting within walking distance from there? Restaurants? Shopping?

THanks

That's an industrial zone where the airport is, like most airports. I mean there isn't anything right around it but some hotels and huge fields and concrete roadways, maybe some industry. There are major huge highways around it. Did you look at the map online of the hotels' website? You can see it's right next to the A1 highway.

Ignoring your question, somewhat..

Could take shuttle and go to CDG, then RER into downtown for dinner?

NO. Nothing the slightest bit interesting. But why not go into Paris?

Punch in the hotel address at http://maps.google.com Go into Streetview mode ... most of the area around the airport is well covered so you'll be able to see exactly how bleak things are. ;^(

Since you'll be there for a while take the suggestion above to pop into Paris.

Actually, there is quite a lot to see near the Campanile Hotel in Roissy, and near other hotels there, as well. It takes a bit of creativity, but if you walk outside of the hotel and walk a bit there is a wonderful park, and nearby several good restaurants. But you must get out of the hotel to find it. So, I answered my own original question. Yes, there is a lot to do near the airport.

Across the street there is a path that leads to a neighborhood with ALL kinds of restaurants, a park and a museum. So there is something to do if you stay at this hotel.
