Bruge or Brussels 3 days
Thinking of a trip to paris but have 3 days spend in Belgium. We will pick up a car at Charles de Gaulle.Which would be a better location to base our selves? Brussels or Bruge? Should we split the three nights and or remain in one location. Thanks Emily

For ease and convenience of transportation (trains), Brussels is better, especially if you want to make day-trips to other cities in Belgium like Brugge, Ghent and Antwerp, or even as far as Rotterdam and The Hague.
If you want to enjoy the beauty of Brugge without the thousands of crowds that descend during the day, then choose Brugge. From here you can also do day-trips to those places I mentioned above, though not as convenient as Brussels.
Either way, I would stay put in one place for the 3 days.
BTW, if you are bringing a car in Brussels, parking may be difficult to find, unless you choose a hotel that has a garage. I think same goes for Brugge.

Since you will have a car I would definitely stay in Bruges, which is magical in the evening. You can easily drive to Ghent - about 30 minutes one day and Brussels (an hour) if you want. But IMHO Brugges is the most charming of the 3.
Be sure to pick out a hotel on a canal with an excellent restaurant.

Brussels gets a bum rap often with American tourists. I happen to think it's got the best food in Europe, so I would stay there for at least one of your three nights. Bruges is ever so charming in that ever so charming way and holds lots of historical and other charm, but I personally love it mainly for the French fries with mayonnaise.

We love Belgium and have stayed in Brussels and Brugge and visited Ghent. Great food, friendly people and beautiful architecture.
I would stay in Brugge and have a day trip to Brussels. The train trip to Brussels, or Ghent is easy and reasonably quick. There are lots of lovely B&Bs in Brugge, more like luxurious guesthouses really.
Parking could be an issue, check before you book anywhere. These places were around a long time before cars were thought of. There are public car parks if your accommodation doesn't have parking.
