British Airways Milan-London-Seattle

I have a ticket Milan-London-Seattle but since booking I have decided to take a train from Milan to Paris for a few days and then to London for a few days. As a result, I will not use the Milan-London portion of my ticket.

Will this create a problem?

Yes, it most certainly will cause problems. When you don't show up at the airport in Milan you will be considered a no-show for the entire flight and your ticket will be toast. You cannot just pick up the flight in London. You absolutely MUST rebook, or make your way back to Milan for the flight home.

Let me re-state part of the above. You will be considered a no-show for the entire trip, not just that flight from Milan to London. This question has come up before on this board, and it's simply not doable.

Thanks, PM. I was afraid there might be a problem. Since BA charges $200 to rebook I'll consider exporing nooks and cranies of Italy that I haven't visited in a long time. HTTY

Or find a discount airfare (budget airline or otherwise) to fly back to Milan first.

Yes, if you don't show up for the first segment the rest of the ticket may well be invalid. You definitely need to contact the airlines with your change or plans, or fly yourself back to Milan for your flight, which does seem a waste. I think you need to pay the change fee, or change your plans back to what they were when you purchased the plane ticket.
