British Airways have changed my itinerary without telling me.

More of this will happen. Oil is at a record cost. Reported seat occupancy is 75%. Airlines can increase profits by simply filling those empty seats. I expect we will soon see flights not departing until the 'bus' is full. Maybe universal standby would help. Most air travel is voluntary.

"Christina, you have just proven the stereotype that people from the US don't understand irony."
Well, I'm not Christina, but that's a most thought-provoking remark.
Is irony worth understanding? (This sounds like a topic for a philosophy class....and doggoneit, we won't have time for one now that BA has punished you by giving you a shorter layover in HK and presumably a faster flight to Jakarta.)
Hmmn, are you sure it was Christina who got the bottom grade in irony class?

Sue - I was only being ironic with my remark about irony
As for philosophy - I gave up on that subject when the footballer Eric Cantona defended his kunk-fu kick attack on a supporter, after being arrested, by saying "When the seagul follows the trawler, it is because they think that sardines will be thrown into the sea". Surely the only answer to that is - Elephant?

It's all a bit weird. I'm flying Qantas to London returning via Hong Kong in late October. The London Leg was BA flight number BA7318 on the QF 030 flight leaving London as 12.20pm. Qantas did not have seats left in my price category but BA did.
I booked ages ago and had a seat request in (made via Qantas).
The flight has not been cancelled by Qantas.
Just received an email from my TA. "Basically, British Airways cancelled out your flight upon their own accord for your flight going from London to Hong Kong. We have spoken with British Airways and sorted everything out."
What BA has done is put me back on the QF 030 flight, but not under the BA flight number BA7318. The good thing is that I now get full points - the bad - I've lost my seat allocation.
