bringing coffee to the uk

Does anyone know if it is allowable to bring coffee into the uk?

I am travelling Sunday morning and I roast my own coffee and it is so good that I wish to bring some with me to have in the apartment.

Am I allowed to bring it in? if so, how much?

I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me.

thanks

Leonard

Just make sure that its in many ziploc bags(in case of spills) or in the original can in your checked suitcase. I have never heard of anyone questioning the bringing of coffee in the UK. Their big concerns are liguids and gels.

The restrictions on coffee date from the days when it was a post-war luxury item. Chances are that no one will check your luggage and you can bring as much coffee as you want for personal use.

Could be a problem if you have it in hand luggage, otherwise no restrictions.

Icallow,

If you're staying in London, there are a few excellent coffee shops. Monmouth Coffee in Covent Garden (a branch in Borough Market that's open daily), and Higgins in Mayfair not far from US embassy.

How does one roast one's own coffee? Sounds delicious.
