Borghese Gallery site questions

Hi everyone. I'm trying to make our reservations. I went to the official site & when I clicked reservations, I was sent to a site for TICKETERIA. Am I correct to assume that is the official site & I didn't get "taken over" by some agency?

Also, when I followed thru to check out the Ticketeria site, I didn't see where I could reserve a GUIDED TOUR. How do I do that?

Thanks for your help. After dealing (& getting locked out of) Trenitalia tonite, I'm tired!!! (so, trenitalia tomorrow!)

Yes, Ticketeria is the official site.

As for the guided tourss, the information is all there on the Galleria Borghese Web site - and in English at that:

Guided tours (you cannot reserve the guided tours for singles)
In english: 9.10 a.m. - 11.10 a.m.
€ 5,00 + entrance ticket

Hi Julie,

My sympathies with Trenitalia... I have been in your shoes a few times! Keep trying... I always get through somehow

Re: the Borghese Gallery website, that is what happened when I made our reservation last May. I didn't try for a guided tour though... After I went through all the steps, I receievd an email immediately with my reservation confirmation number. Very efficient! I wish the Scavi Tour office at the Vatican would do this.

You might try topping this in the morning when there are more Italy experts online.

Ooops, Zerlina. (Obviously I was partially numbed by Trenitalia! That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it! ) Actually, I thought "singles" meant a solo person! Soooo, do we get to sign up for a guided tour once there (but then no guarantee we'd get the correct English ticket time?), or can "singles" guided tours be reserved via phone call, just not website? I didn't see a comments section online where I could mention I want an English guided tour "time".

Actually, TexasAggie, after fooling with Trenitalia for so long & then getting locked out with "try again later!", I looked at airfare from Venice to Rome! But hubby likes the train ride. So, I will once again tackle it tomorrow! My lockout will probably be OK by then. (I couldn't remember my password from last year, tried several times, then got new yahoo email address with new password - too much for the system I guess - mine & theirs!

At Ticketeria, you can choose the time slot you want. So you choose 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. No need to leave comments of any kind.

Yeah! Got my train tickets today! Whew! Glad that is over.

Went to get my Borghese tickets - no go. Only booking for September. Since we arrive early November, 11/5, I hope November can be ordered in October. Oh well, I find out later on.

Thanks everyone, Julie
