booking multiple trips trenitalia

I have read about online booking problems with trenitalia, thus this question..we plan to book a couple of our fares online before leaving home, ie, florence to rome, and rome to venice, since we could secure first class seats for only 29 euros if we book early enough to secure the fare. my first question, since previous posters have had problems booking subsequent fares, is can you book multiple tickets/destinations while on the site (there is an "add fare"
button, does this allow you to continue??
Also, since we are here, I have been checking train times from Genoa to SML, but now I get a message "transcoder problems"
have any of you experianced this? thanks

i had issues with the site a few days ago. i'm still trying to decide what to do.

i'll be doing milan to florence, and florence to rome. and rome to naples.

just don't know how i want to do it yet, and if i want to leave at night, or in the morning.

if i make any progress, i'll let you know!

Instead of the somewhat non-user friendly trenitalia.com, try www.raileurope.com

Take care about RailEurope.com. My understanding is that they are "re-sellers" and charge an extra fee (not insubstantial according to other postings). I'd keep trying the trenitalia web site. Be sure not to try to get your tickets more than 60 days in advance. I purchased our multiple tickets on separate occasions and ran into the problem of our account being frozen - not by Trenitalia but by American Express; simply alert your CC company that you're purchasing multiple sets of tickets from Trenitalia and you shouldn't have any problem on that front. I never encountered a "transcoder" problem - I don't even know what it is.

Good luck!

Hi d,

Before buying tickets:

Register with Trenitalia (It might take a few days to get your PIN).

Inform your CC company that you will be making the purchases

Be prepared for computer glitches (transcoder problem)

Have a nice visit.
