Bob is back from NW Spain

And, has the pics to prove it. A trip report will follow later but suffice to say that we now know why they call it " Green Spain"---it rains all the time. Here are some select images that you may enjoy.

Waiting for the full report.

Just loved your photos of Viana-really makes me long to go back very soon-and the views from the Pousada....Sigh!

You made it to Potes! Can hardly wait to hear about your adventures......in the rain (but that was a beautiful rainbow!)

Welcome back, Bob!

Thanks for the pics. Was in Segovia and Salamanca 2 weeks ago. Enjoyed my own private walk through the cathedral in Segovia. Love those storks nesting. Saw Avila, but did not stop there.
Thanks for bringing back those wonderful memories. My first visit to Spain. I want to go back.
Stayed at the Almada Palace in Salamanca. A beautiful hotel.
We had no rain while were there except May 8-the day we were leaving for the airport to return home.
Will look forward to reading your report.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Most of your pictures brought back many memories (especially the ones from Cangas, loved that bridge!).

Looking forward to your report.

Looking forward to your report. We didn't have any rain in Segovia and surrounds, but we were there in May. When were you there? We're thinking of green Spain next and have been a bit concerned about rain, but we're from Seattle, so are used to it, but still, if possible would rather travel in sun.

Thanks for the preview of our upcoming trip. We leave June 5 for 18 days in Northern Spain. Going also to Viana do Castelo--because you said so. Looks like we'll enjoy it.

How cold was it while you were there? I just read a post somewhere saying that even in summer there will be nights when you'll want to crack out the polar fleece. Does that sound right?

Don't you just love Salamanca? All the matching apricot stone is so warm and so unified and so lovely.

Thanks for the pix. Can't wait for the report. More questions to follow.

Beautiful photos! Now I am almost glad we missed our day trip to Segovia because I would have hated to breeze through there in only one day--for us it would (will!) deserve more time.

Look forward to your trip report--thank you!

Julie,
In mid June while traveling in Galicia we did need sweaters at night-not polar fleece, but a good heavy cotton sweater will serve you well....and of course a rain slicker!

Thanks for the reassurance Maribel. That's more in line with what I'd been thinking.

Any chance that while you're here you can answer my other post about Tapas in Logrono? e.g. do I need to do it at night or can I do it in place of lunch? How about lunch on Sunday, more specifically? Thanks.

Bob, Nice shots. Specially the one from your hotel room and the ones of locals that show the costumes etc.
