boat trip from Positano around the Amalfi Coast

Can anyone recommend the best captain to take the boat trip with around the Amalfi Coast? Would love a great recommendation as well as an idea of cost and itinerary. Many thanks.

Hi Robyn (- we meet again!)

Here are a few who do excursions from Positano:

www.bludream.it
www.syrene.it/gennaroesalvatore
www.lucibello.it
www.mitopositano.it/barca.htm
www.coopsantandrea.it

Hope this helps ...

Thanks for the information Steve--I checked out the sites and the boat trips sound good--no prices indicated. Do you have any ideas on that? Also any particular one you would recommend --boat or tour? Thanks so much.

I haven't used any, Robyn, so I can't compare them I'm afraid. Perhaps someone else can. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi all--back from the most wonderful trip--Salvatore and Gennaro is the name of the boat trip we took--a fishing boat outfitted for tourists--it was just marvelous and we recommend it highly. They picked us up at La Fenice, but the others were picked up at the main beach in Positano. $80 for a full day including a meal at Le Sireme in Nerano--lunch/dinner --which we will never forget. 3 hours on your own in Capri, tour of the coast, blue grotto--just wonderful. 8 in our boat.

Buona fortuna,

robyn,

i was getting ready to respond to your inquiry, but it appears you have completed your trip.

we went on a boat trip sold to us by an alitalia rep.she called us from our hotel lobby in sorrento two years ago. it went from sorrento to faraglioni then to positano, but could not stop there so it stopped in amalfi.

the ride was rough and it was very crowded. we could not stop in positano due to the rough water so when we reached amalfi, we decided to not get back on the boat. we had lunch and went via taxi along the amalfi drive.

on the boat ride we loved the views and jumping into the water of the bay of naples, but would have been bored on the return trip. it seemed that anyone not in good physical condition had a rough time so i would discourage such a trip for those not in shape. people were tripping and getting sick.

your trip sounds like something we would prefer when we return to sorrento this september so thanks for your posting.
