Boat on Lake Como

Has anyone had experience renting a boat on Lake Como? We know they are available, but have not had success finding information on the internet. We would love to hear about other's experiences and possible recommendations for companies who do rent boats. We will be staying in Carate Urio on the western shore. Thank you!

Hi RC - I found these for Bellagio:

CENTRE LAKE MOTORBOATS
Noleggio barche e motoscafi
P.za Mazzini
Bellagio

Tel. 031.951776

SAILING BOATS
Circolo della Vela di Pescallo

Hope this helps ...

We are having the same problem finding information about a private boat tour around Lake Como. We would like to arrange a two or three hour private lake tour that begins from our hotel in Cernobbio and concludes by dropping us off in Bellagio. Were you able to find any additional information? Thank you.

Hi Cbarb - Besides those above, try:

http://www.boatservices.it/

http://www.tasell.com/

http://www.nettunonoleggiobarche.it/home.htm

Alternatively you could contact the Cernobbio Tourist Office:

Ufficio Turistico Cernobbio
Via Regina 33/b
tel. 0039.031.349730

Hope this helps ...

How was your stay in Carate Urio? We are thinking of staying there for a couple of nights in a VRBO rental apt.
Thx

Without a driver:
(lower horsepower boats can be driven with only an automobile driver's license.)

Rent-a-boat has an ad on the larioonline website. Based in Domaso (I think).

There is another option in one of the southern towns but I can't remember the name.

Tours and water taxis:
Brindelli in Bellagio

Pre arranged 1/2 days tours are available thru the travel agent in Varenna (just downhill from the train station).
