It's definitely for the best--they were a bad group to work for and are having some money problems--thus the layoff. Thanks for the support!
I'm flying into Nice, and figure I will spend time in Cannes, Monte Carlo, maybe Eze.
To be honest, I'm still finding out the details of where we're staying. I have to call the friends father in Norway to find out the details of exactly where it is. An important detail, I know!
