Any advice out there please on Berlin?

Want to set up a very "Special" small reunion luncheon in CBD Berlin at a covered venue with a great view. Would appreciate any suggestions. Our recent visit to Berlin was with a tour and we were flat out seeing so many places but do wish to relax - enjoy our reunion (none of 0ur friends have visited Berlin before) needs to be central for the time factor but wanted somewhere that all will enjoy to create a memory by visiting..anything spring to mind..Many thanks for the effort involved.

What about a five-course lunch menu in a restaurant on the Gendarmenmarkt which has been awarded two Michelin stars? - For 39 Euros per person?

You can get no better value for money.

How do you define the CBD in Berlin? Can't be done, not like in Sydney or San Francisco or Bern - you need to define it in other terms.

In fact, Berlin has several Central Business Districts because in 1920 seven formerly independent cities and numerous smaller towns merged into Berlin. The separation of East and West further triggered the development into a multicentered city.

Today, Berlin has at least four CBDs:
- The area around the Gedächtniskirche.
- The area around Friedrichstraße/Unter den Linden.
- The area around Alexanderplatz.
- Potsdamer Platz.

However, for the OP's question it does not matter where to have lunch because all these areas are just minutes apart from each other (either by U/S-Bahn or by taxi).

I still recommend Fischer's Fritz for a ridiculously low-priced gourmet lunch (only for lunch, for dinner it is VERY expensive).

If a great view is most important, reserve a table at Käfer on the top of the Reichstag. The view is fantastic, the food is decent (however not memorable), the prices are still okay (given its unique location).
