Best time to visit Paris?

I am considering a trip to Paris in April. Is it a good time of year? I hate rain, and if this is the rainy season I'd consider going somewhere else in the Spring.

I am not aware of any particular "rainy season" in Paris per se. You can encounter some drizzling (or even a brief thunderstorm) any time of the year.

However, April and May are one of my most favourite season (as well as Sept-Nov) for visiting the city, as the weather is pleasant and the days are long.

The beginning of April in Paris can be on the cool side. Bring temperature-appropriate clothing, and you should be fine.

I am thinking April 12-20 approximately. Would it be about 55-60?
I am not as concerned with the temperates as with rain. I went to Beldium end of march and it rained all week..same thing happend when I went to Amesterdam in the spring...

On that note, I am looking to do an 8-9 day trip and want to incorporate the Loire Valley..is it nice in April?

We were in Paris this year for a week from April 17 -25. We had expected cool temperatures in upper 50's to lower 60's and brought rain gear. We had wonderful weather! It was light jacket weather when we arrived but after a few days the weather was in the upper 70's. We never saw a drop of rain. April was a really nice month to visit as the flowers and trees were starting to bloom and there were not quite as many tourists. However, this was a warm spring in Paris and it may be entirely different next year. Spring in most places I've been to in Europe can mean rain.

April is variable. There is no bad time to visit Paris, however.
