Paris weather late March, early April

We've been in Paris a few times in early April and have had varying weather--one time it was clear the entire time, the other time it rained a few days. HOwever, I wouldn't let a little rain get in my way to visiting Paris in April. Or anytime, for that matter.

Went to Paris to watch my sister run the Paris Marathon a couple of years ago in the first week of April and travelled extensively on the continent just before that. It was chilly the whole time (not unpleasant) and snowed the week after we left. I understand that the weather can vary from year to year, but I would always be prepared for cool weather that early in the spring.

I was in Paris this past April 13-20. The days started out cool - maybe high 40's, every day was in the low to mid fifties. I wore a leather jacket, sometimes with a sweater underneath. They predicted rain every day and it only rained once, and not for long, but definitely bring a raincoat and umbrella. It was partly cloudy most days, but we saw lots of sun despite forecasts to the contrary, and it was warm enough to picnic in the parks. Paris was gorgeous - tulips in bloom in all the parks.

The past few times I have been to Paris, I could only classify it as "freak weather." Once, I went to run the marathon, which was April 8. It rained a lot that whole week. I thought perhaps that was typical April weather, but quite a few people told us it was unusual.

The last couple of years, I have gone in May/June. During that time the weather would go from gorgeous & sunny to freezing & rainy....sometimes in the same day. So like everyone says, be prepared for anything. Bring a jacket just in case.
