It varies from year to year...six years ago we were roasting just before st Patricks day last summer was a washout. Summer to early Autumn is the better time. Saying that we had a gang over for Thanksgiving last year in Ennis and it was lovely.

My Irish friends worry so much when friends were visiting... They feel so responsible for the weather. I have heard April is good but it is anecdotal.
We went in August and it rained every day for 14 days. Oh, no, make that 12 days - after the 12th day my husband paid the fee and put us all on a plane back home so we never got to see day 13 and 14!
Still, I loved Ireland. My husband still insists he had fun there - he just gets antsy with no sports going on...and he had to do all the driving which is no pleasure there...don't be too ambitious with your driving.
