Aaaargh, if you ate at the Gare de Lyon, you missed Le Train Bleu, a wonderfully faded Belle-Epoque-style restaurant. It's opposite the tracks to the south and up some stairs. I could have spent hours admiring the murals in the domed ceiling and lounging on aging leather settees.

What's <i>really</i> hair-raising about that ride is the implicit fact that there are bozos stupid enough to undertake such a jaunt.
