Best Sunday Roast in Leeds or towards Bradford?
Hello UK and Yorkshire-based readers,
Can you please give me recommendations for a nice Sunday Roast in a pub, either in central Leeds or somewhere towards Bradford?
Going for the weekend and we will fit one in before heading back to the airport in the afternoon. We'll be driving so suggestions in the Leeds-Bradford direction also welcome.
So far I was thinking the Faversham (because its handy) but somewhere that hasnt had its old interior ripped out and replaced for student use, would be great.
Priorities: Tasty, under a tenner and in an (old) pub.

There's an old pub slap bang in the city centre of Leeds, called Whitelocks. Loads of character, would met your budget (which is a tough call without boil-in-the-bag). Whitelocks went horribly downhill foodwise a couple of years back when it changed hands, but apparently it is now back on track. You'd never find it if you weren't looking - walk uphill a few paces from the front of Marks and Sparks and there's a small alleyway - it's down there. Two roasts for a tenner, and great beer to wash it down with. There's been a pub here for hundreds of years. Here's the website.

wow, morgana,
that pub lunch looks good enough to move to Leeds for.
I liked the idea of them cooking a whole roast for you, though that chicken at £65 !!!! looked a tad on the pricey side. we're having whole organic roast chicken on Sunday and it'll have cost precisely £2, being the fee charged by the local farmer to kill, pluck and dress our birds.
