Many thanks for your comments about the Hostellerie du Chateau. We've booked a superior room with view and will request one in front overlooking the square, as you have suggested. Based on the small images available on their website, it appears that the building has three floors with rooms facing the front and the side. I suspect that the four at the front (on the second floor - their first) are what you are referring to.
Also, we've been told that there is public parking, but they also have garage space available for 9 euros per night. Is there any reason to reserve garage space or is public parking close by and sufficient?
