A short version is that after dining all dressed to the nines, with waiters lifting silver-domed lids from a very expensive meal over a coupla hours duration, I recall marching upstairs to our suite thinking "it's nice to be king." (and I was royal that night.....) Oh La La

If you and your partner can overcome self-consciousness, have a sense of humor and enjoy engaging other museum lookers, I would highly recommend the Rodin museum, in front of The Kiss. Any Tom Dick or Harry can cast the Thinker pose, but I'm afraid there just aren't enough couples out there willing to strike the classic kiss pose. So if you wouldn't mine, try this out. I suggested it to my husband when we were there, but he thought I was just joking. Alas, I had to settle for dark, intimate and unobserved moments.

God Bless,
Dr. Fordor

My vote would be in the gardens of Versaille. My husband and I took the tram that makes stops around the grounds at the different chateaus, palaces, etc. We strolled around the gardens where there was no one around. - We even took a quick nap under the trees and did some smooching, very romantic!

The quai along the Seine on the right bank walking toward Pont Alexandre III with the Tour Eiffel behind (especially during the "twinkling", and along those steep streets in Montmartre (the nice sections) where the sidewalks are stairs line with vintage streetlamps. Rent "Forget Paris" (dumb movie but great romantic settings in Paris) for loads of suggestions. We were lucky enough to snare a room in Paris with a tiny balcony loaded with flowers in window boxes and view of the Tour Eiffel. Better yet, with the window opened to just the right angle, we could see the reflection in the window with our head on our pillows. Talk about best place to kiss! E-mail me and I'll forward photos.

My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary there and plan to go back for 20 and kiss again in the early morning light of an October day on the bridges over the Seine. We found the experience of waking up with Paris to be so serene and seductive that we walked a different bridge (and stopped in the middle to kiss) every day. The quality of light, the lack of traffic sounds and the smells of fresh croissant and cafe were irresistable even to a stay-a-bed like me.

This post gave me a wonderful idea... On our next visit to Paris we'll plan to kiss on every bridge, starting at the bottom of Ile St Louis all the way to the Eiffel Tower. It appears to be around 16 bridges in all. We'll document it by having our picture taken by another friendly tourist.
