Thanks for the info. The Casa Delfino may be a bit over our budget and I'd really like a water view. Does anyone know anyhtng about the Ammos Hotel?

Based on your suggestions I have changed plans to be in Chania 5 days and Iraklion one nite only, since we're flying from there to Athens.

Thanks!!

We stayed in Casa Leone http://www.casa-leone.com/ for 4 nights in September and loved it. Right on the harbor and our room had a large veranda that looked out over the harbor. Lovely place to stay and explore Chania and surrounding area.

Greeceenmay: I stayed at the Ammos in Sept and really enjoyed it. The hotel sits right on the water and has a pool. We had a 1BR and it was gorgeous; staff was excellent; restaurant food was okay, but others have raved about it. Only bad part is that it is not in town. We took taxi to town most of time and the taxi price varied between 5 and 7 euros each way.

Great information. Thank you both so much!

Is Casa Leone in town?

We'll have a car.

Greeceenmay: The above poster says Casa Leone is on the harbor, so I would consider that to be in town.

Yes, Casa Leone is in town. Chania is very walkable and you don't need a car for getting around town. There was a parking area about a 5 minute walk from Casa Leone. Casa Leone does not have a swimming pool.
