If looking for a sweet easy walk head to the Cap d'Ail train station and go down to the sea and turn left on walking paths that hug the coast all the way to Monaco - over an undeveloped part of the Riviera with the signature gorgeous scenery of cyrpess trees improbably clinging to rocky inclines and a clear deep-azure hued seas - there are isolated swimming holes and don't be shy if on a warm day you see folks au naturel swimming - so if you did not pack your suit you can still skinny dip here.
A great great walk along one of the few untouched parts of the Cote d'Azure coast - all flat - take a bus or train from Monaco back to Nice or wherever you started from.

For a taste of Italy take the Cote d'Azur metro - commuter train line to San Remo, Italy or even just over the frontier to Vintimiglia, where on some days there is a sprawling outdoor market selling all kinds of things. Ventimiglia is as Italian thru and thru as Nice is French.
