Best for touring the city. From what I understand, there are some cities that have more going on in the winter, or that have more of a beauty in the winter than other cities. For instance, I have been told that London can be a bit dreary in the winter. Perhaps that is bad advice, I don't know.

But I would like to go to a city that is at or near its best in the winter. In other words, I want to know of a European city in which it is PREFERABLE to travel in the winter.

I know I'm rambling, but I hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,
I am very, very fond of Rome in the winter. It's warm enough to not have to be very bundled up in a lot of coats, scarves, etc. There are so very few lines at any of the museums, getting in is very easy, no lengthy waits in hot weather, etc. It's pleasant enough for just walking around, too.

Wherever you decide to go, I hope you have a lovely trip.

BC
